Jammu, July 16: A cop in traffic police was arrested after he allegedly hit a lady on National Highway here at Vijaypur today, police said.
According to police, "the victim later succumbed to injuries."
"The incident took place when the lady identified as Leela Dewi wife of Ram Lal of village Baguna, was crossing the road and the police van driven by Rajveer Singh hit her.' "She was rushed to the GMC hospital where she succumbed to injuries, police said. "Police after registering the case arrested the cop identified as Rajveer Singh, police said adding, "the vehicle was seized. Meanwhile body of victim was handed over to the relatives after postmortem.
