KISHTWAR, July 16: The co-accused in Laila Khan murder case, Shakir Hussain of Balesa has reportedly given slip to the police and fled to neighbouring State Himachal Pradesh.
According to sources, Jammu Kashmir Police raided several places since the past few days without results. Shakir, according to main accused, Parvaiz Tak helped him in murdering the actress and her family.
Meanwhile, the Mumbai Crime Branch is likely to visit Nepal to recover the precious belongings of Laila Khan which had been hidden by Tak in the Himalayan State.
The police had recovered nominal cash and his personal belongings from Tak at the time of his arrest at Jammu. The sources said that after escaping from Mumbai, Tak first reached Jammu on February 12 and returned back to Mumbai on February 16. They said that as per the entry record at Lakhanpur, Tak along with Scorpio left Lakhanpur post on February 16 and reached Mumbai where he (Tak) robbed valuable items from Ohshiwara residence of Laila Khan and returned to Jammu on 24th of February 2011.
The sources said Tak also gave some money and jewelry to Shakir which he robbed from Laila's house. They said that during his questioning, Tak disclosed before the Mumbai police that he hid some cash and valuable items in Nepal where he escaped after committing the crime.
They said that in order to recover those items, Mumbai Crime Branch will send a team to Kathmandu. As already reported, the actress and her family carried cash and jewelry of around Rs. 2-3 crore when Tak and his friend killed the family. The sources said that Mumbai Crime Branch is also looking for gold covered mobile of Zarra worth Rs. 7 lakhs. The sources said that Zarra's boyfriend gifted her gold covered mobile which is missing as Tak failed to provide any solid information about the said mobile.
The sources said that Tak informed the police that he threw Zarra's as well as Imran's mobile from nearby hillock and have no knowledge about the same.
Meanwhile, highly placed sources in Maharashtra informed the Crime Branch that Afghan Khan happens to be the person who gave fake inputs to intelligence agencies about the entry of 5-6 Pakistani militants in Mumbai and Hyderabad.
The sources said that Maharashtra police on the basis of his inputs also sounded alert in Mumbai and Hyderabad which later turned out to be false. They said that after surfacing of Afghan Khan's name in Laila Khan murder mystery, both intelligence agencies and Maharashtra police verified his motive behind furnishing false inputs to security agencies.
