Principle GMC assesses medicare to Ramban accident victims

JAMMU, July 16 : On the directions of Minister for Medical education, Mr. R.S. Chib, to ensure best diagnostic and treatment facilities to the Ramban bus accident victims for their early recovery, Principal, Govt. Medical College, Jammu, Dr. Aniece Chowdhary, today visited the emergency unit and the Disaster Ward and reviewed the medicare being extended to the injured like medicines, free diet and the allied facilities.
He interacted with the injured and appealed them to inform him about any problem or inconvenience caused to them in the hospital. He observed with quit satisfaction that the injured are fast recovering to their health.
Dr. Manoj Chalotra, Medical Superintendent, Dr. Wasiq Rasool, Dy. Medical Superintendent, Dr. Utam Singh Samyal, Incharge Casualty and Dr. Sanjeev Gupta, Incharge Control Room accompanied the Principle.
Chowdhary informed that, of the 14 dead bodies in the mortuary, after proper identification three were handed over to CRPF authorities Bantalab for their last rites while seven were flown to Patna today after embalming. Besides, rest of the bodies are being kept in the mortuary for identification by their relatives.
Meanwhile, Dr. Chowdhary took serious notice of the unhygienic conditions in and around the Nescafe area in front of the disaster ward. He warned the contractor Paul Catering Corporation, who was present on the occasion, to ensure hygienic and healthy atmosphere in the Nescafe Area premises besides providing quality eatables to the people. He said that such extremely dilapidated hospital canteens can further deteriorate patients' health which will not be tolerated at any cost. He warned the canteen's owner to strictly adhere to the terms & conditions laid down in the agreement and any failure in this regard can cancel his contract.
