| Mela Minjirein Da concludes at Devika Ghat | | | UDHAMPUR, July 17: Mela Minjirein Da- a famous Duggar folk festival celebrated ever year during monsoon season, came to a colourful culmination at Devika Ghat Udhampur last evening.
Traditional gaiety and fervor marked the mela organized by Shri Om Gouri Shanker Sevak Sanstha Udhampur. A large number of people including females participated in the month long celebration. Joint Director Planning, Udhampur, Rakesh Jamwal was the chief Guest on the occasion. Appreciating the efforts of organizers, Mr. Jamwal said that the festival was to showcase the rich cultural heritage of our region represented through folk festivals. This event provides a unique opportunity to the people to witness colourful, vibrant and authentic folk culture and would go a long way in preserving, promoting and disseminating states folk festivals. On the occasion, a scintillating cultural programme was also organized by the District Information Center Udhampur which was highly appreciated by the audience present on the occasion.
