| Sham assures financial support for medicinal plants nursery | | | Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, July 17 : A meeting of Jammu and Kashmir state Medicinal plants Board was held under the Chairmanship of the Minister for Health, Horticulture and Floriculture Sham Lal Sharma, who is also the Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir State Medicinal plants Board.
The Director Indian System of Medicine of Jammu and Kashmir (Member Secretary Jammu and Kashmir State Medicinal plants Board) Dr, Abdul Kabir Dar and Director Floriculture Kashmir. Dr. Nuzhat Manzoor, Incharge Officer, Jammu and Kashmir (SMPB) gave a power point presentation on the establishment of model demo herbal garden in Kashmir.
This herbal garden will be demonstration garden for School Children, common people and tourists as well.
The Minister while visiting the herbal garden established by Directorate of ISM (J&K SMPB) in the Botanical garden Srinagar deliberated on the scope and potential of Medicinal plants sector.
It was decided that the Director Floriculture Kashmir will earmark 3 hectares of land for developing model herbal garden with a Hi-tech nursery.
The Minister assured financial support for this nursery from the National Mission on Medicinal plants.
Director, Indian System of medicine assured that the work on said project will be started with immediate effect. Director Floriculture. Kashmir indentified a team of officers who will dedicate their services for this project.
The Minister directed the incharge Officer, Jammu and Kashmir SMPB to prepare a detailed project report on top priority and submit the same. |
