NSF flays VC, CU-J for his failure to start new courses | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 17: National Secular Forum today took on the Vice-Chancellor, Central University of Jammu (CUJ) for his failure to start new courses from the academic session 2012-13. It also blamed the VC for shielding the Officer on Special Duty (Admn) Dr P S Pathania who allegedly had embezzled lakhs of rupees during his tenure at Registrar, University of Jammu. Addressing a press conference here, the NSF State President, Dr Vikas Sharma said that the Vice-Chancellor, S S Bloeria has failed to start new courses from the academic session 2012-13, including MA Communication and Management Advertising, MA defence and strategic studies, MA international relations, MA Philosophy, MA social work and MA Public Administration. "CUJ has become rehabilitation centre for the retired people and they don't deserve the prized positing given by the Vice-Chancellor," he said. Sharma also said that the CUJ administration was ignoring the youth of Jammu region in jobs and jobs are being awarded to non-Jammuites thereby the CUJ, VC was playing with the emotions and sentiments of Jammuites. The NSF chief demanded that accountability should be fixed on the administrators as to why they have not been able to start courses although being paid hefty salaries and perks for close to a year. Reiterating his demand for early removal of OSD (Admn), CUJ, Dr Sharma said, "There are many cases of corruption pending against Dr Pathania in University of Jammu. He committed several frauds in JU misusing his official positions. "We appeal the President of India, who is the visiting Chancellor of Central University, to remove Pathania from his post till corruption charges are pending against him," the NSF leader said. |
