| KAS officer dismissed for misappropriation of Govt. money | | | Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, JULY 17:- The Government today dismissed Adil Rashid Naqash KAS Officer on the charges of financial irregularities, misappropriation/embezzlement of government money, misuse of official position and violation of conduct rules after holding departmental inquiry. During his posting as Additional Deputy Commissioner and Collector, Land Acquisition, Pulwama Naqash was accused of misappropriation /embezzlement of over 20 crore government money that was meant for the widening of the National Highway in district Pulwama. The Departmental inquiry was initiated against him on the recommendation of the Chief Secretary after the scam regarding misappropriation of more than 20 crore of land acquisition funds surfaced. The officer was immediately placed under suspension. An FIR was also lodged by the State Vigilance Organization which is under investigation. The Government has also proposed to recover the embezzled amount after the vigilance furnishes its final report. |
