JKDF launches signature campaign against unemployment | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, July 17: Continuing its tirade against the State Government's failure to formulate effective policy on employment and growing frustration among youth of the State, Jammu Kashmir Democratic Front (JKDF) youth wing launched a signature campaign at main chowk, Kachi Chawni here today. Hundreds of youth signed in favour of their demand for unemployment allowance of Rs 2000 per month. The signature campaign was launched by Chairman JKDF, Anil Gupta in presence of District youth wing President Munish Khajuria, and other senior leaders of the party. While addressing the media persons, Anil Gupta reiterated that the youth of Jammu are being discriminated and denied their just demands. The anger and frustration due to unemployment is growing with each passing day. The resentment among the youth shall take ugly turn if the situation is not handled timely, he added. Those who are pelting stones and taking guns are being rehabilitated through different policies whereas youths are being subjected to harassment due to the step motherly attitude of this Government. "We demand immediate announcement of Rs 2000 per month allowance for unemployed youth till they are absorbed into the jobs," said Anil Gupta. To highlight the demand of unemployed youth JKDF is holding the series of signature campaign in different zones of Jammu through its youth wing and finally present the same to the Governor of J&K. Earlier today hundreds of activists of JKDF gathered near Main Chowk Kachi Chawni to participate in the campaign in favour of the demands of unemployed youths who are deprived of their rights to get equal opportunities of earning their livelihood. The non serious attitude of Government to formulate the concrete policy for minimizing the unemployment problem has been flayed by all in one voice. |
