| Man crushed to death in Kupwara; people hit streets in protest | | |
SRINAGAR, AUG 01: Angry protest surfaced in Kupwara in North Kashmir after an old aged person was crushed to death by an army vehicle on Tuesday.
According to the reports reaching here, scores of people took to streets and held angry protests against army on Kupwara- Baramulla road. The protesters blocked the road for hours on the Nation highway and did not allowed any vehicle to pass through, sources said, adding that the protesters where demanding action against the erring driver. Later DC Kupwara reached the spot and pacified the agitated protesters with an assurance that investigation would be initiated into accident and subsequent action will be taken against the driver if found guilty.
Earlier in the morning army vehicle crushed to death one, Ghulam Rasool Sofi son of Abdul Jabar, 57 of Arimpora on Kupwara-Baramulla road.
