Spiritual leader His Holiness Dalai Lama reaches Leh | | | Early Times Report
LEH, July 18: To impart a series of teachings and talks, highest Buddhist Spiritual leader Dalai Lama today reached Leh. During his 20 day long stay His Holiness will visit Zanker, Durbuk and other places. His Holiness was accompanied by Minister of Tourism Nawang Rigzin Jora. He was received by Chief Executive Councillor and all the four executive councillors of LAHDC Leh besides all the religious heads, MLC and other dignitaries were also present to receive Dalai Lama. His Holiness Dalai Lama after landed at Leh Airport directly went to his Photang at Choglamsar, where he will keep stay for another four to five days and will take rest. During his initial resting period he will not address any public gathering and will not deliver any sermons. Right form early morning people from every nook and corner of Leh rushed towards Airport and Photang to get a glimpse of His Holiness. According to official sources, at least 35,000 people were stranded along the road right from Airport to Photang, Choglamsar. At Choglamsar His Holiness addressed the huge gathering wherein he stressed on peace and harmony especially in Ladakh region. He was impressed by the words of Imam who defined the meaning of Iman, who said Iman in Islam means extending help to entire creation of Almighty. |
