| JU awards SAP- ( DRS) by UGC | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU,July 18: Prof Mohan Paul Singh Ishar, Vice-Chancellor,University of Jammu congratulated The School of Biotechnology and The Department of Zoology for being awarded SAP -(DRS) funding for 5 years by University Grant Commission. Special Assistance Programme(SAP) scheme is one of the prestigious programmes of the UGC whereby they identify and support University Departments that have the potential to undertake quality teaching and research in various disciplines.. The grants are meant for purchase of Scientific equipments, fellowships and recurring expenditure. The SAP programme will help in enhancing the infrastructural facilities of these departments and will help in developing quality research programmes. Further the SAP support will also enhance the quality of teaching in the departments. The School of Biotechnology has earned many coveted recognitions like funding from Department of Biotechnology ( DBT),Governmenmt of India and FIST support programme from Department of Science & Technology (DST),Government of India.Both the Departments are striving hard to achieve excellence in teaching and research. |
