Army initiates steps to reduce Yatra casualties

Anantnag, July 18: After the increasing deaths worried Amarnath pilgrims as well as SASB administration, Army has come out with bold initiatives to reduce the Yatra casualties.
4 MADRAS under the aegis of HQ 1 Sector RR had undertaken a novel initiative by organizing a series of free medical health check camp along the southern route. Army has established six dedicated BP and O2 level monitoring counters with the aim of checking crucial parameters and health state of Amarnath Pilgrims before continuing the arduous trek ahead. So far Army has organized such camps at Chandanwari, Sheshnag, Zazipal and Pissu Top. The yatries were handed over the record of their vitals for ready ref along the route. Thousands of yatries got benefited from this noble initiative undertaken by the Army. The endeavor was appreciated by the Yatries and local medical authorities and was seen as a finite step towards curbing unwanted casualty. Army sources revealed that such camps will be organized on regular basis as a welfare measure to the yatries.
