| Rana to file defamation suit against Sajjad | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, July 18: Expressing his shock and dismay at the irresponsible and defamatory statement issued by Sajjad Lone, Devender Singh Rana, Political Advisor to the Chief Minister said that he shall move to the Court for defamation.
Rana said Sajjad has maligned his reputation and tarnished his image by leveling purely false and concocted allegations which are frivolous and baseless in content and as such deserve no cognizance.
Rana said he has been a strong votary of probity in public life and has always been proud of upholding his honour, dignity and integrity in the discharge of his duties in the Government.
Rana said “I am fully aware of the reasons of the pangs of Sajjad Lone for the cable industry but I would leave it to his conscience to introspect and decide”. He said “I challenge Sajjad Lone or anybody else to cite or prove even a single instance during the last three and half years that I have called up any Government functionary for any of my business interests, even a single instance shall be good enough for me to suffer consequences”.
The CM’s Advisor said that Sajjad is also unfortunately raising a bogey of regional bias. He said that divisive regional politics has already done a lot of damage to the State and its people and so let’s not rake up those issues which damage the cause of the Jammu and Kashmir and its people.
Rana said he has already asked his lawyer to move to the court of law to file a defamation suit against Sajjad Lone for making reckless false allegations against his person. |
