Dr Pragya Khanna awarded 'Innovative Science Teacher Award' 2011 | | | Early Times Report Jammu, July 19: Dr Pragya Khanna, Head, Department of Zoology, Govt College for Women, Parade Ground, Jammu has been awarded 'Innovative Science Teacher Award' for the year 2011 by the J&K State Council for Science and technology, Dept of Science and technology, Govt of Jammu and Kashmir. According to press statement issued today the award presentation ceremony was held in S P College Srinagar today and Minister for Science and Technology, Agha Sayeed Ruhullah Mehdi presented the award to the awardee dr Khanna. Among prominent present on the occasion included Commissioner/Secretary, Dept of Science and technology, Bipul Pathak and Principal of the College Prof Nazir Ahmed Gilkar, Joint Secretary, Dept of Science and technology, Mushtaq Ahmed Bhat, and a galaxy of academicians, scientists and students. It is pertinent to mention here that Dr Pragya Khanna has been awarded 15 times earlier by different scientific agencies/societies and academic bodies in India and abroad for her contributions to the field of research and education. "She has three books, five monographs, over 30 research papers and more than 200 popular articles to her credit. She is a member of over a dozen scientific bodies in India and abroad and is in the editorial board of various journals and magazines, the statement added. |
