| Shohab's book "Manto Ki Adbi Jehat" released | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 19: A book titled "Manto Ki Adbi Jehat" authored by Prof Shohab Inayat Malik was released by Vice Chancellor (VC) of Jammu University (JU) Prof Mohan Paul Singh Isher here today. While releasing the book, Vice Chancellor Singh congratulated Prof Shohab for bringing out the book on a very important short story writer.
He said that Manto was a progressive writer who had written marvellous short stories. Unfortunately he died at the age of 42. He hoped that this Book would provide more and more information regarding Manto's life and Art to the new generation. Prof Ishar described department of Urdu as one of the best departments of the University where academic as well as literary activities are being organized frequently.
Noted Journalist Ved Bhasin, presided over the function and he too congratulated Prof. Shohab for his book.
He also described the book a valuable one and hoped that it would hit the stall. Describing Sadat Hassan Manto a pillar of progressive short story writer Bhasin said that his marvellous short story on partition "Toba Teg Singh" could not be ignored. |
