DB directs Com/Secy PWD, School Education to file compliance | National Federation of Blind seeks implementation of Act 1998 | | Jammu, July 20 (JNF) : In a Public Interest Litigation filed by National Federation of Blind Seeking implementation of Act 1998, A Division Bench of J&K High Court comprising Justice Virender Singh and Justice Moha mmad Yaqoob Mir after hearing Sr. Adv PS Dutta assisted by Adv Nityan Dutta appearing for the PIL whereas AAG Gagan Basotra appeared for the State has arrayed the Commissioner/Secretary Public Works (R&B) and School Education Dept as party respondents and issued notice returnable within two weeks. At this stage Neeru Goswami Deputy AG takes notice on behalf of R&B Dept, Gagan Basotra AAG received on behalf of Education Dept and Adv SK Shukla appearing for the SSRB accepted notice on behalf of Selection Board. Division Bench meanwhile ordered compliance by the newly arrayed respondents with regard to the follow-up action on the letter issued by State through Social Welfare Dept has also directed the Commissioner/Secretary to Govt Public Works & R&B and School Education Dept to refer 70 posts of teachers and 12 posts of Junior Engineer (civil) to the SSRB for filling-up the same. Earlier AAG Gagan Basotra filed status report in which it was submitted that the state has circulated the order by which posts of teachers, Junior Engineers (Civil) and Mechanical/Electrical have been identified for appointment under handicapped category and published in the two daily newspapers. It is further stated that the state through Social Welfare Dept vide its letter NO SW/A/1 of 2012 has also directed the Commissioner/Secretary to Govt Public Works (R&B) and School Education Dept to refer 70 posts of teachers and 12 posts of JE (Civil) to the SSRB for filling-up same, AAG further stated that he is not aware of the follow-up action, Upon this Division Bench arrayed the Commissioner/Secretary Public Works (R&B) and School Education Dept as party respondents and issued notice returnable within two weeks. |
