`Political vendetta to appease Taj' | Sanction against Vakil | | Early Times Report Jammu, July 20: Former Minister and AICC member Abdul Gani Vakil has described Government's decision to accord sanction against him as a political vendetta to appease PHE Minister, Taj Mohi-ud-Din to cover up his misdeeds as allegedly reported by various newspapers during the past. The former Minister expressed surprise over the Government's move in according sanction in a case where there is no evidence against him and on the other hand the Government is sleeping over various cases in which the State Vigilance Organization (SVO) has sought sanction for prosecution of tainted bureaucrats who are allegedly involved in various scams like Gulmarg Land Scam, JAKFED scam, illegal appointments and irregularities in various departments, land grabbing by a nexus of politicians and land mafia. Vakil also lamented the sanctioning authority for refusing sanction against a sitting Minister who was involved in making 55 illegal appointments in State Legal Services Authority and against whom the SVO had established a fool proof case. He further sought complete implementation of the apex court judgment delivered in the case of Subramanian Swami wherein the apex court issued categoric directions that in all cases of corruption the sanction must be accorded within a period of three months and in case no response comes from the sanctioning authority after the expiry of three months then it is treated as a deemed sanction. Vakil while drawing the attention of the ruling coalition towards the land mark judgment of the apex court appealed the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to immediately accord sanction against all those whose files are pending for sanction over the years. Vakil also referred a PIL sub-judice before the State High Court wherein notice has also been issued to the State Chief Minister and other functionaries to explain the reasons of delay in according sanction in cases of corruption against senior IAS/KAS officers against whom SVO has prima facie established corruption allegations. The former Minister also expressed surprise over the manner in which a former Minister was targeted for raising his voice against corruption and demanded inquiries into the various corruption charges exposed by the media and also inquiries about the illegal occupation of more than 342 kanals of private land by three daughters of PHE Minister Taj Mohi-ud-Din at village Chak-Lalushah (Tawi Island), Jammu. The AICC member Vakil also demanded an in-depth inquiry about the milk factory which is allegedly built on State land and a posh bungalow at village Chak-Lalushah and also digging of eight tube wells by Government agencies in the same land due to the influence of PHE Minister. He has expressed his full faith in the administration of justice and vowed to expose the acts of omission and commission before the court of law. Vakil said that he has also informed the High Command through a letter of the recent developments and he has demanded stern disciplinary action against sitting Minister Taj Mohi-ud-din who violated the constitution of the party and thereby damaging the image of the party as the High Command had already taken notice of the development in the past and issued explanation to Taj Mohiudin also on 17th February. Without waiting for the decision of the High Command he violated the constitution of the party but Vakil vowed to fight against corruption and said that he will leave no stone unturned in unearthing scams in various departments to safeguard the interest of the party and coalition. |
