Historic Mughal Road closed as heavy rain lashes | | | Early Times Report Jammu, July 20: Historic Mughal Road the alternate route to valley reportedly was today closed for traffic following landslides after inclement weather condition i.e. heavy rains lashes believed to be a cloud burst. Reports from the area said that a score of dozen landslides have taken places from Pirkegali area to Dogrian area during the intervening night of July19/20 heavy rains virtually like a cloud burst hit the said area. If sources are to be believed, the machines, tippers and crusher were reportedly got damaged in these landslides. Meanwhile reports also said that six employees of the construction company tasked to complete the Mughal Road were also got trapped at Chandi Marh as they were marooned due to heavy rainfall. Reports said that the officials have been conducting the survey of the areas wherever they have suffered losses so that they could make a final assessment which is yet to be made. Meanwhile historic Mughal Road has been closed for the usual traffic as the roads stretch at many places have been washed away due to heavy rains. |
