| GCW organizing workshop on ‘Computing Taxable Salary Income” | | | Jammu | Feb 3
The Department of commerce GCW Parade is organizing a One day workshop on guidelines for computing Taxable Salary income, tomorrow.
Giving details Prof. Indira S. Rathore, Principal of the College, said that salaried persons have been generally seen facing problems with regard to the computation of their salary income and deduction of tax at source. She said that not exactly knowing as to how to compute as well as save tax, Keeping objective in mind, the college embarked upon the idea of inviting income tax authorities to deliver and deliberate upon the topic, she added.
Prof. Rathore further said that there would be presentations from the Commissioner income tax and income tax officer which would be followed by deliberation, discussion and cross – question from the audience. Invitation have been extended to teaching as well as non teaching staff of the all Jammu Colleges so that they are enlightened and compute their taxable salary income properly and effectively.
She further said that the students of B.Com final are also involved in this workshop so that after attaining their graduation, they are self sufficient in computating tax liability as entrepreneurs. This is a part of the scheme christened “Earn while you learn”, she added.
