CJM issues arrest warrant against Major's wife

JAMMU, July 20: Court has issued arrest warrant against Archana Choudhary, wife of Major Dinesh Choudhry, posted in 8 Sikh Regiment at Nagrota for duping, lakhs rupees at various exclusive outlets of branded companies in Jammu, sources said.
The arrest warrant was issued by Chief Judicial Magistrate Jammu, a senior police officer said here today.
A police officer on authorized anonymity said that wife of Major posted at Nagrota Jammu identified as Archana Choudhary has gone underground when six cases were registered against her in different police stations for her alleged shopping spree and duping of owners of exclusive showrooms.
"Of the six, one lodged by Puri's Exclusive was non bailable as she was booked under Section 380 RPC with City Police Station, police official added sharing information.
He further said that acting on the court order SSP Jammu Prabhat Singh is all set to constitute two different teams for raids in her Rajasthan based parents residence at Jun Jun Adabi and her in laws residence at Ganga Nagar, Rajasthan.
Meanwhile, sources within police also had information that earlier, police communicated reminders to Army to hand over the accused but all turned futile. Sources termed other reason of police for plea to arrest warrant against her when police left in fix 'what to do or what not to do' after two complainants took U turn alleging that no such incident took place with them despite having lodged complaint with the police stations. Taking advantage of U turn, Army officer whose wife is involved in the scam on behalf of his wife lodged plea under section 561 CrPC for quashment of the FIRs lodged against her stating that no such incidents had taken place, thus maligned the image of police.
Pertinently six cases were registered against her in Jammu city which including two in Gandhi Nagar police station, two in Nowabad police station and two in City police station but the alleged accused is still evading her arrest.
Meanwhile, the health experts feel that the accused might have been a typical case of 'kleptomania' (obsessed to steal things) and thus has looted shopkeepers of posh areas in Gandhinagar and Jammu Mall.
