After BJP, PP, SS, Samajwadi Party also accuses coalition of discrimination with Jammu | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, July 21: After BJP, JKDF, Panthers Party (PP) and Shiv Sena (SS) it is the Samajwadi Party (SP) which today accused the State Government of discrimination with Jammu region. The allegation came none other than SP state chief and former MP Sheikh Abdul Rehman while talking to reporters here. Substantiating his claims about the discrimination with Jammu region in general and Doda district in particular, Sheikh Rehman said out of 14 Tourist Development Authorities (TDAs) sanctioned by Centre for the state, 10 went to Kashmir Valley and four to Jammu. He said though Doda district has many tourist spots not even a single Tourist Development Authority was sanctioned for the district. This shows the callousness and discriminatory attitude of the Government towards the region. Sheikh Rehman said likewise out of 40 higher secondary schools sanctioned by Union Government for the state 35 were established in Kashmir Valley and five only in Jammu region. Besides the 90 percent model schools went to Kashmir Valley alone. Turning tables on State Government headed by Omar Abdullah, Sheikh Rehman said lawlessness, corruption and discrimination is on peak under this dispensation. He announced that his Party will launch a state level campaign against the anti people policies of Coalition which has totally failed to deliver the goods. Sheikh Rehman said that there is not infighting within the coalition partners NC and Congress but there is infighting within Congress and NC parties. While the factional feud is evident in Congress with Azad camp and Soz camp on warpath against each other and a former Congress Minister has leveled wild allegations against the coalition Minister of his Party, the NC is too divided as Dr Farooq Abdullah says something, Omar Abdullh other and Dr Mustafa Kamal speaks in different direction. Finding fault with the working of opposition parties Sheikh Rehman said the BJP's seven MLAs were involved in vote for cash scam and the Party was misleading the people on the name of autonomy and 370 issue while NC was also befooling the people on the name of autonomy as the Party is mostly responsible for murder of democratic institutions in the state. He alleged that both the parties are adopting extremist approach and accused NC of seeking autonomy for itself and not for the people. Supporting the more autonomy for states he said this demand echoed in Chief Ministers conference recently and Parkash Singh Badal Chief Minister of Punjab strongly advocated for the same. Besides the Chief Ministers of West Bengal Mamta Banerjee and Tamil Nadu Jayalalitha are also for more autonomy to states. Even BJP ruled states demand autonomy Sheikh added while strongly opposing the abrogation of Article 370 giving special constitutional status to J&K. He however ridiculed the NC for misleading the people on the name of autonomy and alleged that Party wants to take all benefits as it is not interested in percolating the autonomy to Panchayats and other institutions which have been made totally powerless by it. He while supporting the autonomy demanded regional autonomy and constitution of regional councils as well so that the people in real sense can reap the benefits of democracy. |
