CAPD team conducts market checking, realizes Rs 17200 fine | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, July 21 : A team of Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CA PD) Jammu, realized a fine of Rs 17200 from traders and shopkeepers found violating the set norms. To stabilize and enforce the prices of essential commodities in view of Shri Amar Nath Ji yatra and start of Ramzan, the team headed by Deputy Director, CAPD Jammu, conducted surprise market checking in Gandhi Nagar, Trikuta Nagar, Shastri Nagar, Railway Station areas and challenged 19 traders for violation of Essential Commodities Act-1955. The team inspected Dhabbas, Fruit, Vegetable, Mutton and Chicken sellers. The fine was imposed for using domestic LPG Cylinders for commercial purpose, not displaying the rate list and overcharging. Defaulters were further warned that if again found indulging in overcharging/not displaying the rate list, strict action under law shall be initiated against them. |
