JKSRTC Bidding Case:Court directs Vigilance Organization to probe case | | | Early Times Report Jammu, July 21 (JNF):- Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu Kartar Singh forwarded a complaint to SSP Vigilance Organization Jammu (VOJ) for investigation filed by S Harbhajan Singh Chairman Udhampur Transport Cooperative Limited against Managing Director & Ors of J&K State Road Transport Corporation and private respondent and directed the respondents to be prosecuted under relevant provisions of law in the interest of justice. In response to the complaint that tenders for providing of trucks for the year 2011-2013 were invited by the respondent from registered transport groups companies handling of transportation contract for supply of trucks with effect from April 9, 2011 to March 31, 2013 on commission basis on the prevalent rates of J&K SRTC. The last date of opening of tenders was fixed on March 23, 2011 by the tenders opening committee comprising of SRTC officials in presence of the transporters. "That complainant offered 19% commission for the said contract whereas respondent No 7 Transport Company had offered 11% commission as per the information provided under RTI Act. The complainant was asked by the MD to approach the concern minister, the complainant approached the minister who in turn directed MD SRTC and committee members to open bid of the complainant, complainant stated.
