| Saroori bats for Rahul as PM | | | Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, July 21: Former Minister and MLA Inderwal G M Saroori has welcomed Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi's decision to play a greater role in the party and national affairs.
Rahul Gandhi had on Thursday formally announced that he would now play a more active role in the party and the government. Though the decision of Gandhi has come late, Saroori said that he welcomed the step and said he wants the Congress party to contest general elections under his leadership and would like to see Rahul Gandhi as Prime Minister after 2014 General Elections. He said those who know Rahul closely will agree that his method of political governance is direct, transparent and thoroughly political and that he does not accept factionalism. Saroori also praised Gandhi for his intellectual personality and as a 'magnet' for the nation's youth. |
