NSF burns effigy of HRD Minister | Protests against delay in coming up construction work in CUJ | | Early Times Report JAMMU, July 21: Activists of National Secular Forum today held protest demonstration in the campus of Central university and also burnt the effigy of Union Minister for Human Resource Development Kapil Sibal.They protested against the HRD Minister visit to South Kashmir and also to show there resentment against delay in coming up construction work in Central University of Jammu and to ensure accountability in functioning of University. The demonstration was led by Dr.Vikas Sharma, NSF State President. He took strong exception of HRD Minister's visit to South Kashmir. He said that congress government has failed at all fronts in the country. Day by day corrupt ministers are being exposed leaving behind no credibility.He said that life of common people has become miserable. "Corruption is on rise day by day in the Jammu Central University and there is no eye on it", he said. . Dr.Sharma also criticized the vice-chancellor for his inaction. "The CUJ administration was ignoring the youth of Jammu region in jobs and jobs are being awarded to non-Jammuties thereby the CUJ, V-C was playing with the emotions and sentiments ofJammuties", he said. He added that land has been identified by the government but till date has not been acquired by the CUJ and no construction has started on the identified land. The NSF chief demanded accountability in the University. "Why they have not been able to start courses"", he questioned. Reiterating his demand for early removal of OSD(Admn), CUJ, Dr Sharma said, "There are many cases of corruption pending against Dr Pathania in University of Jammu. He committed several frauds in JU misusing his official positions. He said that NSF will continue its struggle for the social cause and appealed the people of the state to come forward and exposed the corrupt person in CUJ. Among those who were present in the Protest included, Ravi Choudhary, Surjit Choudhary, Sukdev Singh, Narinder Singh, Balveer Kumar, Sunil Kumar, Mohd. Qayoom Malik, Ajaz Shah, Imra Zahoor, Washim, Zulfkar, and others. |
