| GM HH Industries among two booked for 'child labour' | | | KATHUA : Two persons including General Manager of H.H. Factory were booked U/S 3/14 Child labour Prohibition and regulation Act 1986 while a complaint has been filed in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Kathua today.
Following that bizarre incident of blatant violation of child labour act at H H Industries Kathua, the contractor of the factory confessed on camera about the other branches of H H Industries Kathua too have engaged children on different types of works in respective units keeping in view the children as 'cheap labour.'
Contractor further added that he is only a small fry but the child labour at various industrial units in and around Kathua involves a huge nexus involving big wigs. Meanwhile a team from Early Times reached the spot and took photographs of the children all below 14 years of age actively working in the factory.
When contacted Assistant Labour Commissioner Ghanshyam Basotra briefly replied that the department was not aware of this network.
Meanwhile SSP Kathua responding to this issue said that an information was received at PP Hatli through reliable sources that some children below the age group of 14 years are engaged as labourers in a workshop near K C Hyundai Car Show Room Hatli Morh Kathua. "Police party of PP Hatli immediately swung into action and rushed to the spot where it found that five Children were working as labourers in the workshop. He also added that two persons namely Maha Dev Dass S/O Laxmi Narayan Dass R/O Bharat Pur Tehsil Rajpur District Damesh Pur and Parveen Kumar S/O Om Parkash R/O Hissar Haryana presently General Manager of H.H. Factory have been booked u/s 3/14 Child labour Prohibition and regulation Act. 1986 while case has been filed in the court of CJM Kathua today.' |
