BJP demands enquiry in CAPD, Social Welfare fraud | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 23: Bhartiya Janata Party has accused local Minister of State Shabir Ahmed Khan for adopting silence over the regular scams in various departments in Rajouri and have demanded immediate enquiry into the bungling of government money in the department of Social Welfare Thanamandi. Addressing workers meeting organized to gear up the membership drive in Thanamandi, State Secretary of BJP Advocate Vibodh Gupta has said that scandal after scandal are being unearthed in Rajouri but there is no word from local MLA and minister of state Shabir Ahmed Khan which creates doubt that there is some fishy in the matter and Khan may have some role in these bungling. Advocate Gupta said that there was scam of Rs 50 Lakhs in Pahari hostel Rajouri after which 13 crore scam was unearthed in the department of Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Department which is being headed by MoS Shabir Ahmed Khan. He added that after these scams, a social welfare scam in Thanamandi area have been unearthed where a scam of bogus pension has come to the lime light. He said that atleast 700 bogus cases are found in Thanamandi and the scam is big and is being shielded by some influential politicians. He added that the scam in social welfare is of serious nature as those who have died 2 years ago are still getting pension and even students are getting old age pension in the area. BJP leader said that all these scams have been unearthed either in the own department of Shabir Khan or in his own constituency. He added that no action has been initiated in either of the three scams. He said that all the mis-appropriation needs a through probe but there is no word from MoS regarding the same. In the meeting District President Yogesh Sharma targeted the Congress-NC government terming it anti-people government. He said that government has become non existent as there is no work on grounds which can be dub as achievement of government. Mandal President Zahid Qureshi and senior BJP leader Nayeem Ganie also criticized the government for their anti-people policies. They said that corruption has been crossed the danger level and there is sky rocketing rising prices which could have been controlled by the Omar Abdullah led government by curtaining VAT but nothing has been done in this regard. These leaders alleged that there is open loot in the government officers as these officers have got direct approval of corruption from government |
