Bhalla inaugurates Rs. 1.20 cr steel girder bridge at Bhour Camp

JAMMU, July 23: Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Raman Bhalla today inaugurated 45 meter span steel girder bridge over Balol nallah near floriculture garden at Bhour Camp, completed at an estimated cost of Rs. 1.20 crore.
Executive Engineer R&B Rampaul besides other senior officers of PDD, R&B, RDD, Revenue and PHE accompanied the Minister.
Addressing a large gathering soon after inaugurating the bridge, Bhalla said that with the inauguration of bridge over Balol nallah, the distance to floriculture garden in Bhour camp and journey to Miran Shaib town would be reduced to a large extent.
The Minister said every year lakhs of tourists from across the country visit the floriculture garden and enjoy their trip with full joy there. He said due to non-availability of this bridge over Balol nallah, locals as well as tourists were facing lot of hardships as they had to cover long distance to reach the garden.
Bhalla said that the Government has also approved Rs. 1.93 crore under NABARD for construction of double lane 18 meter span steel girder bridge over Landoi Choi nallah in Bhour Camp to provide better road connectivity to the residents of ward no. 1 and ward No. 2 . He said the work on the project was going on war-footing and would be completed in stipulated time frame. He asked the R&B engineers to immediately start the construction work of both side nallah embankments so that soil erosion due to flash floods could be stopped.
The Minister said the coalition Government was committed to connect every nook and corner of the State with nearest headquarter by ensuring better road connectivity. He said that with the construction of 18 meter span steel girder bridge, the distance of lower Gadigarh, Karan Bagh, Bhour Kothey, Azad Nagar, Vikram Nagar and its adjoining areas would be reduced to a large extent.
Listing the projects taken up in the area, the Minister said that a Primary Health Centre costing Rs. 1.60 crore was nearing completion at Bhour Camp, adding that after its functioning local people shall get adequate healthcare facility at their door steps. He said such facilities in the adjoining area periphery reduce burden on Gandhi Nagar as well as main hospitals of city of temples while the people will have an easy access to the healthcare facilities. He said that the Government has approved Rs. 1.53 crore for construction of cremation ground at lower Gadigarh near Rohi Morh.
Bhalla said that Government has approved Rs. 4.92 crore for widening of Karan Bagh-SKUAST-J link road, the work on which is nearing completion.
