NPSU alleges discrimination against Jammu, castigate interlocutors' report | | | Early Times Report Jammu, July 23 : National Panthers Students Union (NPSU) today charged the state government of discrimination against Jammu region. Addressing the media persons at a press conference, Partap Singh Jamwal (Pradesh President NPSU) said that allocation of Rs. 105 Crore to Jammu Districtis far less than the developmental needs of the district. he alleged that the state government has fudged the figures of the census to enable higheer allocation of funds to kashmir province while the fact is that the jammu region has greater number of households and population. Rejecting the report of the interlocutors, jamwal said that report is totally against the Jammu province and itfavoured the Kashmir provinces. He said, the Dalip Padgaonkar led team of interlocutors has submitted a report on Jammu and Kashmir which instead of suggesting some fruitful ways and means has tried to create confusion in the minds of people. He asserted that the report virtually seemed to be a pre-drafted document and got forwarded to the interlocutors as its whole focus has been on Kashmir only. Jamwal said his NPSU has been holding protest demonstration against the report throughout the state as the Interlocutors have allegedly failed to highlight the problem of unemployment and recommend any result oriented measures to tackle it. On these issues, the NPSU held a protest against the govt. on Tuesday in every district of Jammu Province. Other who were present in the press conference including Yogesh Talwar, Mahesh Bakshi, Atul Sudan, Mohd. Ashraf, Davinder Singh hau, Sunny Mandla etc. |
