Mumbai court extends Parvaiz Tak custody by 2 weeks

kishtwar, July 23: Mumbai Additional Metropolitan court today (23rd July) extended the police custody of Parvaiz Iqbal Tak accused in murder of Bollywood starlet Laila Khan and her 5 other family members by two weeks. Mumbai Crime Branch produced Tak in court after his four days police remand ended today. After hearing the argue of prosecuting officer of Crime Branch Mumbai, Court extended police remand of Parvaiz Tak till August 6, 2012. Tak who was arrested by Kishtwar police on June 21 when he was returning from Nepal confessed the killing of Laila Khan and her family members before Kishtwar police. After confessing the killing of six people, local court in Kishtwar on July 7, 2012 handed over the Tak on 4 days transit remand to Mumbai Crime Branch who shifted Tak to Mumbai where he (Tak) is presently under their custody since then. It was on Kishtwar police leads that Mumbai Crime Branch recovers all the six dead bodies from Igatpuri farmhouse in presence of accused Parvaiz Iqbal Tak.
While seeking extension in custody of Tak, Mumbai Crime Branch informed the court that they were in the process of shifting Tak to Jammu and Kashmir hospital where he with the help of his friend Shakir Hussain of Gundow Doda under gone treatment for his injuries after wiping out entire family of actress Laila Khan. Mumbai Crime Branch pledged before the court that shifting of Tak to Jammu and Kashmir is an important aspect in the case that can lead to the conviction of the accused and his associates. After getting two weeks extension in custody of accused Tak, Mumbai Crime Branch is expected to shift Tak to Jammu and Kashmir and finally to Kishtwar within next 2-3 days.
Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Police continued its hunt to arrest Shakir Hussain, who allegedly helps Tak in execution of crime, besides in destroying the evidences. Shakir was though detained by Kishtwar police in first week of June, but allowed him to go after Mumbai police team probing Laila Khan murder case gives Kishtwar police green signal. "We have email the photographs of Shakir Hussain to Mumbai counterpart for their view point-it was only after Mumbai counterpart gives clean chit to him (Shakir), we let him go." Said a senior Jammu and Kashmir Police officer. "We have helped the Maharashtra police in past and we are committed to help them in future as well as far as help in solving out the murder mystery of actress Laila Khan and subsequently in arrest of Parvaiz Iqbal Tak and off course we provided them all possible help as far as hunt to arrest another accused Shakir Hussain is concerned" added senior police officer of Jammu and Kashmir Police.
It is worthwhile to mention that "Early Times" in its July 8, 2012 edition first breaks the modus operandi adopted by the accused Parvaiz Iqbal Tak in killing the starlet and her family which was earlier presumed to kill by some sharp shooter hired by the killers having links with underworld to eliminate the family.
