| NPSU registers protest in Jammu colleges | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 24 : Today National Panthers Students Union (NPSU) held a strong protest demonstration in the Govt. Degree Colleges of Jammu Province including GDC Paloura, SP College of Commerce, GGM Sc. College, MAM College, GDC Akhnoor, GCW Parade, and GDC Bani against the discriminatory behaviour of State Govt. towards the Jammu region.
Early in the morning activists of NPSU gathered at Jewel and marched towards the GGM Science college in the shape of rally.
The students of Sc. College along with the NPSU leaders boycotted their classes under the leadership of Rawat Singh Manhas, Yogesh Talwar and Mohammad Ashraf.
All the students of the college gathered at main gate. After this a large number of students marched towards the SP College of commerce via Canal Road and blocked the road. The protestor students boycotted their classes under the leadership of Vicky Singh Bhau & Mahesh Bakshi. Students of SP College of colleges gathered at main gate and joined the rally of Sc. College students. Students of both the colleges marched towards the GDC Paloura and boycotted their classes under the leadership of Sunil Mandla and Dalvir Singh Chib.
All the students of three colleges gathered at main gate. Students of MAM College also held a strong protest demonstration against the State Govt. Addressing the students S. Harpreet Singh said that Vice-Chancellor for not taking note of their demands and maintaining stoic silence over the entire matter.
Singh further said that the CUJ administration was ignoring the youth of Jammu region in jobs and jobs are being awarded to non-Jammuties thereby the CUJ, V-C was playing with the emotions and sentiments of Jammuties. On the occasion Partap Singh Jamwal (Pradesh President NPSU) said that on Sunday, in the meeting of Jammu District Development Board, the fund of Rs. 105 Crore which is given to the Jammu District. As per the requirement and the development of Jammu district this fund is very less.
The Govt. had issued the package of Rs. 105 Crore. In this also the strength, population of Jammu is higher than that of Kashmir. But always the govt. has given more preference to the Kashmir provinces. The State govt. give more preference in every field i.e. if we see in educational field, employment field, Tourism, Road and Building etc. In every field the govt. has given more preference to Kashmir province.
Students of GWC Parade also held a protest demonstration at main gate under the banner of NPSU.
On the occasion Preeti Sambyal, Rohini. She added that land has been identified by the government but till date this land is not acquired by the CUJ and no construction has started on the identified land.
NPSU demanded that accountability should be fixed on the administrators as to why they have not been able to start courses although being paid bulky salaries and perks for close to a year. She strongly condemned the report of interlocutors.
