| HC stays detention, attachment of property of Virender Gupta close associate of Gola Shah | | | | Jammu, July 24 (JNF) : In a petition filed by Virender Gupta @ Kaka Chichdi alleged close associate of Ravinder Gupta alias Gola Shah against the order of District Magistrate for his detention under PSA and also against the order of attachment his property, Justice JP Singh of Jammu & Kashmir High Court Jammu Wing after hearing Adv Javed Iqbal appearing for the petitioner whereas AAG Gagan Basotra for the state, directed authorities that the petitioner shall not be detained till next date and coercive process for attachment of the property shall also stayed till next date. Justice JP Singh further observed that during the course of consideration counsel for the parties suggested that the petitioner's petition be taken-up for final disposal permitting the respondents to file their response, considered the submissions of the counsels for the parties and gone through the detention record. Meanwhile in view of the factual position emerging from the detention records, Court directed that the petitioner shall not be detained till next date. This shall, however, be subject to petitioner's appearing for the SSP Jammu twice a week. Coercive process for attachment of the petitioner's property shall also stayed, till next date. |
