J&K to generate 3000 MGW of power in 12th plan: Rather | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, July 24: The Minister for Finance and Ladakh Affairs, Abdul Rahim Rather today said work on Rs. 24 crore Charar-i-Sharief-Yusmarg- Phakherpora road project is in full swing and would be completed as early as possible. The road assumes much significance as tourists, in large numbers flock to Yusmarg for entertainment and picnic. Answering various queries of the people of Charar-i-Sharief constituency during Radio Kashmir, Srinagar's "Hello M.L.A" live phone in Programme this afternoon, Rather said Charar-i-Sharief and Pakherpora shrines are being developed as important pilgrim tourism destinations. He said construction of Rs. 26 crore magnificent Khankah complex, Charar-i-Sharief is nearing completion. He said an integrated project is being formulated to construct modern type bathrooms on scientific lines at Chara-i-Sharief to meet the requirements of the pilgrims visiting the Shrine of Sheikh Noor-ud-Din Wali (RA). The Deputy Commissioner, Budgam has been asked to prepare in term report in this connection within a week. Regarding drinking water scenario in the constituency, Rather said two main gravity water supply schemes including water supply Schemes , Surisyar and water Supply Schemes , Beran Dub is feeding major population of the constituency adding that there is hardly any village left now without portable drinking water facility , However, he said with the expansion in residential houses in villages, the demand for water connections has also increased which has warranted upgradation of these main water supply schemes. He said every corner of his constituency is linked with road connectivity. Regarding timber supply, Rather said it will be ensured that every needy and genuine consumer gets timber for domestic use. |
