JU organizes valedictory function in VLSI and Embedded Systems Certificate Course

JAMMU, July 25: The Department of Computer Science and IT, University of Jammu organized a valedictory function of the certificate course in VLSI and Embedded Systems. Prof. Mohan Paul Singh Ishar, Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor, University of Jammu , the chief guest of the occasion in his address appreciated the efforts made by the Department to set up the prestigious VLSI and Embedded Systems Laboratory and launching of the Certificate Course in this specialized field. He emphasized that this shall be a very good opportunity for the aspiring students of this region particularly belonging to field of Computer Science, Electronics and Electrical engineering.
Prof. Ishar further stressed that this Lab shall provide an opportunity for the engineering graduates of this region to learn and get abreast with the advanced technological developments in the field of developing IC based systems. Prof. Ishar announced that the University shall start an interdisciplinary M-Tech Programme in VLSI and Embedded Systems / Micro-electronics where this laboratory shall be of great help to the student community in obtaining in-depth practical knowledge of the subject. The student participants of the course were also given certificates by the Hon'ble Vice-chancellor.
Prof. Naresh Padha, in his address emphasized that more such course shall be initiated for the benefit of the student community. He also stressed upon the students to focus on the fundamentals of the concerned subject.
Prof. Vibhakar Mansotra, Head Department of Computer Science and IT and Course Director in his welcome address thanked Vice-Chancellor for his guidance and support in organization of the course. He informed the august gathering that the University of Jammu particularly the Department of Computer Science & IT is thankful to the State Govt. for extending financial support for establishing IMAGE VLSI Lab in technical collaboration with Powai Lab, Mumbai.
