| Charak lays foundation of Muralian-Deoli road | | | JAMMU | FEB 4 Minister for Roads and Buildings Mr. Gulchain Singh Charak today laid foundation stone of upgradation of Muralian to Deoli road of Bishnah constituency being constructed at a cost of Rs 74.49 lakhs under NABARD. The work on the project got underway from today. Later, addressing a public meeting, the Minister said that this was the long pending demand of people of the area and hoped that after completion the project would benefit about 20,000 souls of the area. Referring to other road projects already in progress in Bishnah constituency, he said Rs 12.25 crore are being spent on these road projects to provide better road connectivity to the people of the area. He said that government is committed to provide better road connectivity to the people of state and added Rs 4500 crore would be spent for upgradation of roads up to 2009, under Bharat Nirman Programme in the state. He asked the people to keep vigil over the developmental works being under taken by the government for their welfare. On the occasion, Member Legislative Assembly Bishnah Mr. Ashwani Kumar also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the problems of the constituency particularly for the upgradation of link roads, culverts, approach bands and other works. He hailed the decision taken by the Minister for providing of communication facilities of the area. He hoped that all the projects taken in hand would be completed in a stipulated time frame.
