| Zero Hour in Legislative Assembly | | | SRINAGAR, AUGUST 01 – During Zero Hour in the Legislative Assembly, 31 members today raised issues of public importance pertaining to their constituencies and demanded redressal of the problems. Mr. Sartaj Madni raised the issue of menace of drug addiction among the youth he also demanded issuance of notification for declaring some villages of his constituency as RBA. Mr. Kafil-ur-Rehman demanded release of funds for re-construction of damaged infrastructure in Tangdar and Karnah due to earthquake. Dr. Mustafa Kamal demanded shifting of factories from Nehallpora to some other suitable areas. Mrs. Suman Bhagat urged for adopting a village in R. S. Pora constituency as Model Village, while as Mr. Jugal Kishore Sharma pleaded for creating at community block at Bhomag. Mr. Ajay Sadhotra demanded for implementation of National Water Resources for raising protection bunds along Nikki and Baddi Tawi to safeguard public properties. . Mr. N. A. Gurazi asked for early completion of development works in Gurez Constituency before the onset of the winter and Mr. Javaid Mustafa Mir demanded employment for landowners whose land has been acquired by Railway Authorities. Mr. Dilawar Mir raised the issue of drinking water scarcity in Rafiabad, while as Mr. Balwant Singh requested for construction/repair of roads under Asian Development Programme. Dr. G. N. Bhat demanded compensation to fire victims of Amirabad, Tral and Mr. Mubarak Gul demanded upgradation of Srinagar roads. Mr. Rachpal Singh raised the issue of non-implementation of development schemes in Kalakote and Dr. Romesh Chander Sharma demanded release of Rs. 72 lakh as relief to border migrants of Nowshera constituency. Mrs. Khem Lata Wakhloo demanded irrigational facilities for Brain and Nishat areas and Peer Mohammad Hussain demanded adequate staff in health and medical centers in Shangus constituency. Mr. Shoiab Lone demanded speedy implementation of developmental schems in Sangrama constituency. Mr. Sharief-ud-Din Shariq demanded a Commission to review the creation of new administrative units in the state. Mian Altaf Ahmad raised the issue of discrimination with officers of Gujjar and Bakerwal community, while as Mr. Abdul Gani Malik demanded district status for Mahore. Mr. Usman Majid demanded early completion of bridges under ADB in his constituency and Mr. Mohammad Khalil Naik demanded inquiry in the sub-standard work extended by the Ground Water Authority in digging tube-wells in his constituency. Th. Puran Singh demanded engagement of casual labours in Budhal constituency for manning PHE schemes. While as Mr. Qaiser Jamsheed Lone demanded adequate protection of students studying outside the state. Aga Rohulla Mahdi demanded building for Degree College Budgam, while Mr. Ashwani Kumar raised the issue of West Pakistan Refugees for their permanent rights. Mr. G. M. Saroori demanded opening of college at Chatroo in Inderwal constituency. Mrs. Kanta Andotra, Mr. Abdul Majid Wani, Mr. Mushtaq Ahmad Bukhari and Dr. Manohar Lal demanded upgradation of power infrastructure, construction of bridge on Thathri-Barshala road, discrimination in allocating additionality and installation and upgradation of transformers in their respective constituencies. |
