| J&K is emerging as epitome of intellectuals and educational richness: Mangat | | | JAMMU | FEB 4 “Jammu and Kashmir State under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad is fast emerging as epitome of intellectuals, educational and technological activities”, said Minister for Health and Medical Education Mangat Ram Sharma while addressing at a prestigious annual day function of Luthra Group of School Education Talab Tillo here today. Mangat Ram Sharma said that with the expansion of infrastructure treasure of education reaching to all nooks and corners of the state and the educational atmosphere has become pragmatic with new dynamism while Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad has taken keen interest in reviving the glory of the state. His priority attention was on realising education further and not only university campuses have been established in far-flung areas but unprecedented number of colleges started actually functioning. He said at present students from outside the state are receiving education in the state which indicates the fact that importance and richness of education has been realised by all. He said all students are showing excellence in all fields. Appreciating the performance of the institution, Mr. Sharma said that this institution is among the premier educational institutions of the state and has produced most of the luminaries of the state who have brought name and fame for the state. He said private educational institutions are supplementing the government’s initiatives to provide quality and scientific education to children living in every nook and corner of the state. The education does not only mean to get jobs but it enlightens the students and helps broaden their over all vision to make them proud citizens of the country. On this occasion, a play ‘Roshni Ki Kiran’ directed by S. P. Varma, a renowned Gandhian and Chairman of all India Gandhian workers society depicting the importance of philosophy of non-violence as propagated by Mahatma Gandhi was the highlight of the programme. While observing this play as highly emotional and spirit piercing, Mr. Sharma said that now Pakistan President Gen. Pervez Musharraf has also accepted the philosophy of non-violence propagated by Mahatma Gandhi. Director Information Khawaja Farooq Renzu was the guest of honour. Others who attended the function included Chairman Luthra Group of School Education Mr. Balwant Luthra, former MLA Mr. Shivdev Singh and President Sadbhavana-ke-Sipahi Mr. S. P. Varma. A galaxy of intellectuals, educationists, prominent citizens, thousands of students and parents also witnessed the colourful cultural programme presented by the school children at the jam-packed auditorium of Luthra Public School.
