PSA holds protest against alleged gang rape of girl | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, July 25: Pahari Students Association (PSA) held a protest demonstration in the university campus against the alleged gang-rape of a teenager in Kalakote area of Rajouri district and police inaction in registering the case and arresting the accused. It is worthwhile to mention here that the girl after gang-rape committed suicide resulting into her death. Even after three days two of the accused are still at large. Manik, President of PSA unit JU addressing the students said that violence against women is the fastest growing crime in India. Spokesperson PSA MS Bhatti by condemning the delayed police action said that those who have committed the heinous crime should be detained as soon as possible. He said that few days back one boy threw acid on a girl in RS Pura making her face and body burnt injury and a father raped her 13 yr old girl in Arnia, RS Pura. He said that such cases are increasing day by day and Jammu is also witnessing the same. He further said that if the strict action will not be taken by the police then PSA will continue these protests and convert these protests into agitation. |
