Court extends CBI remand of Raw officer, two others | | | early times report Jammu, July 25 (JNF): Special Judge Anticorruption (CBI Cases) J&K Jammu BL Bhat today extended five days CBI custody remand of of Raw Inspector Dinesh Koul, Sahdev Singh and Rinku Kumar private persons who were arrested by the CBI team on July 19, 2012. CBI today produced the Raw Officer and two others in the Court Special Judge Anticorruption (CBI Cases) J&K Jammu seeking further five days remand of accused persons. Upon this BL Bhat Special Judge Anticorruption (CBI Cases) J&K Jammu heard the accused and perused the CD file. Allegedly accused Rinku and Sahdev along with three other visited residence of the complainant Raj Kumar using official Vehicle of Dinesh Koul Raw Officer posted in Special Bureau and demanded Rs 1.20 lakhs as bribe from the complainant on the pretext that they have intelligence report and evidence against him and he would be implicated unless he pay the bribe. This allegedly happened on July 18, 2012. on this complaint a trap was laid by CBI and all the three accused were caught red-handed while accepting Rs 20,000, voice samples of accused have been obtained. The modus-oprendi is adopted by accused in extorting money from one innocent villager is being probed and the investigation is in progress. Bail applications of all the three accused are under consideration. There is ample scope of further investigation and the remand of accused to custody of CBI which is expiring today is extended for further five days.
