Fresh batch of 483 pilgrims leave for Amarnath from Jammu
About 3200 yatris leave for cave from Srinagar, 5.95 lakh have darshan

JAMMU/ SRINAGAR, July 25 : Amid tight security, a fresh batch of 483 pilgrims today left Jammu for the Amarnath cave shrine in South Kashmir Himalayas, meanwhile About 3,200 pilgrims today left Baltal and Nunwan Pahalgam base camps for the holy Amarnath cave shrine in south Kashmir Himalyas, situated at 13,500 feet.
The pilgrims comprising 303 men, 91 women, 4 children and 85 'sadhus' left in a cavalcade of 10 vehicles from Bhagwati Nagar base camp in Jammu at around 0500 hours.
With today's batch, as many as 90,018 pilgrims have left Jammu for their onward journey to the cave shrine.
From today, pilgrims will be allowed to leave from Baltal route till 1200 hrs, a yatra official said, adding earlier the route was being closed from 1000 hrs.
About 5.95 lakh pilgrims had darshan of the self-made ice- Shivlingam since the commencement of the pilgrimage on June 25.
A Met department spokesman said the sky will remain cloudy and there could be rain or thundershowers during the next 24 hours on both Baltal and Nunwan Pahalgam tracks.
Yatra route in Jammu region will also get light rains, he said.
A yatra official said 2,020 pilgrims, including women, children and sadhus, left Baltal for the holy cave since 0500 hrs today.
He said 1171 yatris, including women, children and sadhus, left Nunwan Pahalgam for Chandanwari, the last motorable halting station on the traditional route.
He said those yatris who had night stay at different halting stations enroute, also started their onward journey this morning while those who had had darshan also started their return journey.
For the third consecutive day, there was no report of any yatri's death and the toll remained 97.
Majority of those who had darshan of the self-made Ice-Shivlingam, have returned to their homes.
