Kulgam, July 26: In a case of political witch hunting, Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) Kulgam was allegedly attached by a top cabinet minister after she denied accommodating illegally a ruling party worker's daughter in Social Welfare Department at Kulgam.
Working in Social Welfare Department as CDPO, Kulgam, Mehmooda Banoo was attached to direction office Srinagar after she denied accommodating illegally ruling party worker's daughter identified as Masrat resident of Padder Pora, Seer Kulgam.
"Its good to be attached than doing wrong. Before being attached I received a call from unknown number directing me to issue order in favour of Masrat which I denied, I told the caller that the candidate you are asking me to accommodate is not a meritorious one and she (Masrat) stands on 3rd position while as the High Court has directed to me appoint the most meritorious one." CDPO Kulgam Mehmooda Banoo told this reporter, adding that the caller might be someone's PA.
She said, "Before the day I was attached Masrat (Candidate) and her father visited my office at Kulgam and tried to exert pressure on me to issue orders in favour of Masrat which I denied and Masrat's father told me that you have to face dire consequences of it."
Maintaining that it's good to be attached than doing wrong or injustice with poor people in the Holy month of Ramzan, she said that I happily pick up my attachment order from direction office Srinagar.
When contacted Program Officer, Mohd Akbar, said, "There is definitely a problem regarding with the appointment of the meritorious candidate at Padder Pora Kulgam as the candidate's (Masrat) points are counted and recounted as ther was some confusion." adding that we are going to visit the particular place and will study the case again for doing justice with the candidates.
Commenting on CDPO Kulgam's attachment, he said that misbehaving with the concerned minister may be the reason of her attachment.
However, despite repeated tries Director Social Welfare Department could not be contacted. |
