| Amidst religious fervor Shri Budha Amarnath yatra is in full swing | | |
Poonch, July 26: Amidst religious sloganeering, a large number of the devotees from within and outside the state thronged to Shri Budha Amarnath Shrine Mandi nestled in picturesque mountainous terrain at around 22 km towards North east side from main township of Poonch.
The ongoing yatra is being organized by Bajrang Dal and VHP in association with different volunteer organizations. Besides managing the yatra affairs the host organizations also organize community kitchens (langars) for the convenience of pilgrims coming to the Shrine in Mandi Poonch. The pilgrims coming to Mandi from Jammu after having a night halt at Poonch, arrive here at Mandi on the other day come to offer their obeisance the ancient temple of Lord Shiva that has historic and mythological significance in Hindu scripture.
The whole Mandi town wore religious ambience due to religious enchanting and sloganeering echoed by the pilgrims assembled here in remote town of Border district in Poonch. Over 20,000 registered and unregistered pilgrims from various parts of country and state have had the darshan of holy shiv lingham during the first week of ongoing yatra while the mood of pilgrims is upbeat as the yatra is approchaing towards it culmination on Raksha Bandhan. Meanwhile adequate security arrangements have been made at Mandi for the smooth darshan for pilgrims by Police under the supervision of Addl SP Yougal Manhas, Tehsildar Mandi,BDO Mandi and SHO Mandi.
