Plea for quashing of cases against Army officer's wife rejected | | | Early Times Report Jammu, July 26: An army official now elevated to the rank of Colonel, was forced to eat a humble pie when High Court J&K rejected his plea for quashing of cases registered against his wife namely Archana Choudhary, booked for duping various exclusive outlets of branded companies in Jammu of lakhs of rupees, sources said. Sources said that the plea was forwarded today by the Army Colonel Dinesh Choudhary (husband of alleged accused) before Justice JP Singh. However, following the direction of High Court the plea was forwarded to Sessions Court where Colonel was directed to forwarded plea in this connection to the concerned police stations where cases against his wife were registered. Earlier, police were in a fix after two complainants took U turn alleging that no such incident took place with them despite having lodged complaint with the police stations. Taking advantage of this development, Army officer to save his wife from legal/ police action submitted his plea u/s 561 CrPC seeking quashment of the FIRs lodged against his wife stating that no such incidents have taken place, thus maligned the image of police. Meanwhile, sources said, SSP Jammu Prabat Singh has written to court for permission of raids in the residence of the absconding army colonel's wife for further investigations. |
