| Convert Balidan Stamb into tourist attraction place | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jul 27: Former Minister of State for Defence and MLA, Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta has stressed the need for observance of Kargil Vijay Divas at the public level and converting of Balidan Stamb at Jammu into a place of tourist attraction.
Gupta expressed satisfaction for observing Kargil Vijay Divas by the men in Khaki but said that involvement of general public in such functions should be encouraged so as to create awareness amongst the masses.
But it is a pity that more importance is given to secessionists and semi-separatists even in such matters which are linked with our security and that of existence, he added.
Prof. Gupta was highly critical of the coalition leaders of the state and Congress led UPA government at the Centre.
He said that instead of taking note of the situation and work for strengthening the security measures, confused and contradictory voices are being aired by the men authority including the Cabinet Ministers at the Centre just for keeping in good humour the state ruling leaders and also the separatists.
Prof. Gupta maintained that Indian forces especially the army have by their actions proved as being the most disciplined formation but it was unfortunate that in J&K, some elements are trying to misrepresent it. |
