| Udhampur chess body welcomes move | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
UDHAMPUR, July 27: The government move to establish Sports Councils at district level, the District Udhampur Chess Association has welcomed the initiative in a meeting held today under the chairmanship of president, Aman Kalsotra.
Speaking to the members of the association and other prominent sports and social figures of the district, Kalsotra said that the move would certainly help promote sports at the grass root level.
He further suggested that such units at the district level must be empowered to take financial and other decisions at the district level thereby eliminating the middlemen.
A statement with regard to Sports Councils at the district level was issued by the Minister for Sports, R S Chib recently. |
