NPSU decries police inaction in gang rape case | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, July 27: National Panthers Students Union (NPSU) held a protest demonstration at MAM College against alleged police inaction in arresting culprits who gang-raped a teenager in Kalakote area of Rajouri district. The protests were led by Harpreet Singh (District President NPSU). It is worthwhile to mention here that girl after gang-rape committed suicide resulting in her death. Even after three days, two of the accused wee still at large. Early in the morning, students of MAM College boycotted their classes and raised slogans against state government, a large number of students gathered at main gate of the MAM College. While addressing the students, Harpreet Singh said that a class 10th girl student few days back consumed some poisonous substance after she was allegedly gang raped by three persons including a principal of private school in Kalakote of Rajouri district. Singh demanded action against the culprits. On the occasion, Partap Singh Jamwal (Pradesh President NPSU) said that those who have committed the heinous crime should be detained as soon as possible. He further said that if the strict action will not be taken by the police. NPSU will continue these protests and convert these protests into agitation. Others who were present in this protest include Paramveer Singh, Taman Singh, Guppi Singh, Golu, Sahil Sharma, Mahesh Bakshi, Yogesh Talwar etc.
