7/28/2012 12:15:05 AM
Early Times Report
Srinagar, July 27: More than 2,100 yatris today left for Holy Amarnath cave shrine in south Kashmir Himlayas, where so far over six lakh pilgrims had darshan of the self made Ice-Shivlingam since the commencement of the yatra from June 25.
A Met department spokesman said the sky will remain cloudy and there could be rain or thundershowers during the next 24 hours on both Baltal and Nunwan Pahalgam tracks. A yatra official said despite rain and cold, 1,240 pilgrims left Baltal base camp for the cave shrine.
He said 864 yatris, including women, children and saints, left Nunwan Pahalgam for Chand anwari, the last motorable halting station on the traditional route. He said those yatris, who had night halt at different halting stations en route, also started their onward journey this morning while those who had darshan also started their return journey.
Majority of those who had darshan of the self-made Ice-Shivlingam have returned to their homes.
