| Farmers allege non payment of compensation | | | Early Times Report
BHADERWAH,July 27: Alleging discrimination in land compensation, Bhaderwah farmers allege they are not being paid land compensation by Revenue and PWD Authorities instead of two years had gone to acquisition of land for the construction of the Dehraja link road . They allege that Revenue Department of Bhaderwah is doing pick and choose policy while releasing the compensation of affected farmers of Dehraja link road as kith and kin of the officers are paid compensation and poor and non influential are running from pillar to post to get compensation but all in vain .One farmer Thakur Yudvir , said PWD along with Revenue Department acquired his paddy land for the construction of Dehra link road without his consent , but now two years had gone no compensation is being paid to us , he added and demanded immediate release of the compensation . Another farmer Massod Ahmed Sheikh alleged that Revenue department is doing violation of constitutional equality and demanded illegal proceedings against them and demanded complete transparency in the compensation amount. Gobbru another farmer added that last month when Gulam Nabi Azad visited Bhaderwah they met him and raise the issue of pending compensation which he on the spot directed to DDC Doda to release the same but till day all in vain , he allege .
Effected farmers threatened of protest and demonstration against the administration if compensation is not paid to them as soon as possible . Tehsildar Bhaderwah Sudershan Kumar when contacted said he will look into the matter personnel y and provide compensation to farmers within week . |
