| 103 leave for participating in National Games | | | Jammu | Feb 4 At least one hundred three players drawn from various areas of the State today left for Guwahati to take part in 33rd National Games from Bakshi Stadium. Minister of State for Youth Services and Sports Mr. Babu Singh, officials, senior players and prominent citizens bid a warm send off to the Players here this evening. The players include 88 male and 22 female. The players include 16 member Hand ball and 12 members Rugby teams, besides 7 players participating in Athletics, 02Gymnastics, 01Boxing, 09 Wushu, 08 Rowing, 10 kayaking, 04 swimming, 08 Fencing 01 Wrestling, and 03Triathlon. Earlier, addressing the Players Babu Singh said that state individual players who would bag gold Medal would be given twenty thousand cash reward by the state Government. Similarly, those winning silver and bronze medal would be given Rs 10000 and 5000 respectively, minister added. Reiterating government’s commitment of promoting sports in the state, minister said that a fresh sports policy would be framed to encourage local talent for participating at National and international level. Thakur Rangil Singh and director youth service sports were also present on the occasion. |
