| Jammu fumes for water, electricity | | `Let CM spend a few hours in Jammu heat' | | early times report
jammu, July 29 : Jammu fumes as shortage of electricity and scarcity of potable water continues to subject the people to inconvenience. The Socialistic Democratic Party Provincial President Sham Bhagat while leading SDP's Protest Demonstration in Jammu today said : 'Chief Minister should dare to come to Jammu & spend some hours without electric supply.' Prominent SDP leaders including State Youth President Gursagar Singh and other leaders Abhay Singh Wazir, Vishal Choudhry, Raj Rattan, Kamaljeet Singh, Ajay Raina, J L Chopra, Sanjay Manhas, Subhash Baba, Balvinder Singh Charak, Sikandiya Devi, bal Krishen Hazare, Peer Abdul Majid Shah and others participated in te demonstration.
The protesters raised slogans against the government for discriminating with Jammu. Sham Bhagat while addressing the media said that the political leadership was enjoying the pleasant weather of Srinagar and the people of Jammu have been put to the hell like situations. The leaders raised their voice against government's anti-people stance. Bhagat said, "The Chief Minister has no time to see the people in misery. He talks loud of his vision of development and utterly fails to provide the basic necessities of electricity and water to the people." He dared the Chief Minister to come to Jammu to spend a few hours in the scorching Jammu heat without electricity. He said that the scarcity of water in the city and the adjoining towns and villages reminds one of the water blockade of Karbala in Yazeed's time. SDP leaders criticized the administration of discriminating with Jammu. |
